Athena Notebook
Goddess of the Seas - Gracing the side entrance of the Coral Gables Woman's Club stands four women in stone in a four-paneled sculpture as a tribute to the women who step-up, volunteer their time, and treasure to make a difference by example and through their contributions. Most buildings in Coral Gables were designed in the Mediterrane style. The Woman's Club and the statues are the only examples of Art Deco design in Coral Gables that are historic.
Please note: I named this new media art Athena - the goddess of wisdom - appreciating the wise women who have worked for a better tomorrow. It was only mentioned as the nude with a conch facing north as part of a WPA project.
